Paddling with others

There are currently no paddle groups but often on weekday mornings there are members on the water. If you're keen to make contact with other members, put a post on our facebook page

Remember all harbour craft need to have lights after dark and before dawn. For kayaks this means a steady white light one metre above the water line that can be seen from 100 metres away. For most the easiest way to do this is to wear a headlamp or to put a wrap-style micro LED bike light on the centre of their paddle shaft. Most people also wear a clip on light on the back of their PFD so they can be seen from behind too. No matter what you have, if you hear a boat assume they haven't seen you and take evasive action - you will come off second best in a collision! PFDs, while being a legal requirement, are also a very good idea.
