Post AGM report

This years AGM marked a record turnout of members, maybe it was the promise of free nibbles ?. Whatever it was everyones attendance (and apologies for those who couldn't but would have) was really appreciated and augers well for the future of the club.

As you can see I am still here droning on as President, welcome to all the new committee members and those who put their hand up for the Exec positions. Our first committee meeting is in a couple of weeks and from there we will be forming plans for the rest of the 10/11 year.

The AGM brought up a few interesting questions and points and the committee will be working on answering, addressing and considering these as we go. We have a new Communications Officer as well who will be updating this website and working to improve our communications with members, prospective members and the wider paddling community.

As far as club events go the White Water trips are still a happening thing, pool nights are charging along and look out for the Kupe Thursday night multisport training sessions (I'll think up a catchy name soon) which will be running all going to plan from late October - this will be in the form of a casual run/paddle session based out of the clubrooms with either bit optional (but not both - that's called doing nothing!). Welly Paddlers have taken over the Tuesday night kayak race series and of course the first tranche of Tuesday night races is the Mana Kayak Club race series. So all go for the summer.

Paddles up

Colin Slater, President.
