Tuesday twilight racing for 2019 will kick off 15th January 2019 and run for eleven weeks through to the 2nd April 2019.
Due to the number of requests we have decided to bring back the handicap races this season, the first two races will be standard races to provide seeding times and we will then move to alternating between handicap and standard races each week.
Race schedule as follows:

Races are open to kayaks, surf skis, waka ama, paddle boards or any other human powered craft.
As you can see above we have a few spots required for timing - if you can fill one of these please let Jonno or Emma know.
The final night will determine the 2019 winner of the Kupe Rose Bowl trophies, include a prize giving and and BBQ.
Registrations will take place from 6pm on the night of the race at the Kupe kayak shed. Even if you have registered for the race series you will need to check in to be be given your allocated start time.
Race briefing will take place at 6.25pm at Haitaitai beach, with start times from 6.30pm.
$5 per race or $20 for the series.
Courses are weather dependant and will be posted on the Kupe Facebook page 24hrs prior
Long Course: The long course races are approx 6-8km depending on conditions.
Short Course: A short course options will be introduced for 2018 with a focus on participation and encouraging new paddlers to get involved. Distances 3-5km depending on conditions.
PFD’s must be worn by all paddlers.
All paddlers participate at their own risk and make the decision to compete based on the knowledge of their capability and the conditions on any given race night.
