Race results - 10 January 2012

28 paddlers entered in the first Kupe Tuesday night race of 2012. A 20 knot northerly had us racing the 5.2km Big Loops course in Evans Bay.

As promised we released the field in three waves. This isn't an attempt at true handicap racing. It is more so an effort to reduce congestion at the first mark and to make racing a little less intimidating for newer paddlers.

That said, we still want good, close, aggressive racing. If you found yourself miles out in front or way behind this week, move up/down a grade next week.

The long range forecast for next Tuesday is for northwesterly winds. If this actually comes through racing will be in Evans Bay again next week.
